It brings together the latest mortality and morbidity figures on men's health for the current European Union member states. Topics covered by the report include causes of death due to illness and external causes, as well as men's perceptions of their health, life expectancy and lifestyle issues. Male Menopause: man in barrel, flag

Male Menopause and Herbs

Gail Edwards' Blessedmaineherbs Web site has a good article on male menopause.

During this time a man is in the process of becoming the benevolent ruler, the Emperor, the wise sage and mentor, the compassionate one who watches over and protects those in his care. In indigenous cultures, universally, elder men take on three distinct roles. First of all is Peacemaker. Elder men control and channel the aggression of the younger men, recognizing their youthful aggression as important, while removing it from the vulnerable areas of their communities. Traditionally, elder males also take on the role of Spirit Guide by attending to the spiritual needs of the community, and Mentor by providing much needed mentoring to young males.

LeadershipWorks: a teen

LeadershipWorks, founded by Mitch DeArmon, is an organization serving adolescent males and their families through mentoring programs, camps, workshops, information, and consulting-all designed to empower youth to take responsibility for their actions, community, and future.

"Our society has completely failed our young men. The rise in hazing, violence, depression, and medicating and self-medicating through alcohol and drugs is only the beginning. Our hope and our challenge lies in men reclaiming our young men and in women trusting us enough to let us." His book Why Boys Need Men (to be published 2005) further describes his concept of both the problem and the remedies available to us.

His Web site includes "Tips for Parents" and an online discussion board.
